Creating a Project
In your portfolio, you can create a new project using:
Note: You must have the 'Create Project' permission in the currently selected database.
To create a project
- In the Portfolio area, click
.
- From the Portfolio drop-down list, select the database in which the project will be created.
- Complete the following fields:
- Project Number: The project number, which is made up of the Prefix, Sequence, and Suffix.
- Prefix: The prefix for the project number.
- Sequence: The next sequence, which is displayed by default and can be modified.
- Suffix: The suffix for the project number.
- Project Name*: The name of the project.
*These fields are required.
- From the Template Type list, select a template.
- Use the Default Template: The default template is used to create the project.
- Select an Existing Project: After you select this option, select a project from the Project Name drop-down list.
- Upload a Template File: After you select this option, click Browse, and then select the template file (.dtp).
- Select a Previously Uploaded Template File: After you select this option, select an uploaded template from the Template Name drop-down list.
- In the Include Data section, select one of the following options:
- All Data: All the data in the template. The options in the File Library section are automatically selected.
- Lookup/List Groups: Only the lookup and list groups from the template.
- No Data: Only the project record and no data from the template.
- If you selected Lookup/List Groups or No Data, make a selection in the File Library section.
- Folder Structure: The File Management structure from the selected template.
- Folder Permissions: The File Management folder permissions from the selected template. If you select this option, the Folder Structure check box is automatically selected.
- Click the Budget tab.
- If you selected Lookup/List Groups or No Data, select any of the following options:
- Budget Code Records: The budget code records from the project template. If you include the budget codes, you must include the budget group lookup groups.
- Budget Group Lookup Groups: The budget group lookup groups from the project template. For more information about budget groups, see Budget Code Structure Setup in the Prolog Manager User Guide.

To indicate which budget groups will be imported into the new project and whether they can be shared with other projects in the same portfolio, select the check boxes in the Import and Share columns as required.
